Bilingualism

At Wellspring Learning Community, we aim to develop our students’ language capacities to the fullest in both Arabic and English languages. Consequently, we have designed our curriculum and staffing to support student learning in each language equally in all subject areas. Beginning in grade 1 there will always be two teachers, a native speaker of Arabic and a native speaker of English. This means that Wellspring students will not only study English and Arabic formally, but they will also learn and practice communicating about everything they learn in both languages throughout the school day.

French will also be supported in the school as a third language. Students will be exposed to French informally in the Nursery and KG levels and then begin formal study of French in grade 1.
