Serving the Community
Community service is an essential element of the PYP IB program and a counterbalance to academic studies. The PYP aims to develop caring young people who are aware of being part of a wider community with responsibilities to each other and the environment. Every year our students engage in a variety of activities that help them apply the transdisciplinary skills and knowledge they have explored during units of inquiry in real-life contexts. Through activities such as Global Youth Service Day and collaborations with the Red Cross, the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon, TrainTrain and other NGOs, students develop important life skills such as problem solving, accountability and team-work. We aim to encourage students to become active members of the global community who are motivated and able to make meaningful contributions in the world.
